Yeah, I'll take any win, but if UT had a QB that could hit a receiver, we would have been in deep sh@! They had wide open receivers all night. That last score should never have been allowed. Everyone in the stadium knew that there would be a shot at the end zone, yet their receiver was wide open.
The secondary needs work.

You hit the nail on the head... poor defensive play.

I hate to say this out loud, but Coach Roof has not impressed me!

As nice as it would be to see the defense improve, I think our best chance of winning is to outscore the other team. For a variety of reasons, we didn't operate the offense at full throttle tonight.

Is it scheme though? I see players constantly in position to make the play and just failing to finish, while at the same time coming up with big splashy plays in prior games. I wonder if the defense isn't just playing too aggressively going for that big splash play or maybe the depth issues aren't more the issue. Either way, defense has to get better to keep the winning going. Next week at ARK will be very tough if the defense doesn't play strong. All this work getting a better offense is good for nothing if our defense goes South.

Hrm, maybe I am not crazy after all.
