Post What Do You Think We Should Do?

Do you guys think we should start the second string players against Furman? Just to give the first string guys a break heading into the UGA game because that game will make a great season for us with at least 8 wins if we win that game.
Just like to know you guys think

Don't think we should start them, but would be real sad if they didn't get a lot of playing time.

I think the starters should be in for the first half then the backups get the second half to play. The starters need to get the flow going a little bit and have a live opponent to continue to work on things that have troubled them thus far.

Besides, we wouldn't want Ingram to pass Tate in rushing yards again now would we? Shouldn't be a problem, he'll get 80 on the first play from scrimmage. I don't know about after the half. It depends on how we play them; if we get up 28-0 after the 1st quarter, maybe then is a good time. If it's 17-10 at the half, keep em in.

I hate to use last year as an example since it's totally different but we had a tough 3 quarters against UT-Martin before Kodi decided to say screw it and and win it by himself. Completely different attitude, level of play, etc. but it can still happen. As the offspring of Michigan alumni, I'm all too familiar with the jabs about App. State. I'd hate to see it from my own university.

But yeah, I'd hope to see the 2nd stringers get a lot of playing time. Slade (or whoever fills in for Zac this week) should stay in longer just to get more gametime regardless.

Funny you should mention that...I checked the individual leaders by position on ESPN and Ingram is #5 in the nation for rushing - Tate is #2.

RUSHING YARDS YDS
1. Ryan Mathews, FRES...1316
2. Ben Tate, AUB..........1067
3. Bernard Pierce, TEM.....1033
4. Dion Lewis, PITT.........1029
5. Mark Ingram, ALA.....1004

Which leads me to my question:

How/Why is Ingram leading the Heisman vote so far when currently 4 other RBs in the entire nation have better stats than he does, yet they are not mentioned? I understand that bama had a week off so Ingram is one game short, but c'mon!

2009 Heisman Watch - Heisman Trophy Candidates - ESPN

Is bama lobbying for a Heisman since it looks like they'll not make the BCS again (at least at this point)? What a joke!!

Ingram's yards per carry and yards per game (they've had an off week) are both much higher than anyone else in the nation. He's also on a championship contending team.

EDIT: sorry, with the exception of Mr. Matthews but being on Fresno, he doesn't get any attention.

Ingram is in the conversation because of bama's record and the fact that no single player on a great team has stuck out as the favorite. The media wants Tebow to win it again, but his numbers don't justify the hype. I think McCoy from Texas wins it after they make the BCS NC game.

I say if they are sore - rest them. Auburn's 2nd string should be able to handle Furman.

I wonder if they will practice against UGA or Bama this week?

Play the first team and seniors and Pour it on. Look what Arky did last week.
Put up a number like 60 or 70 points and make a statment. We could be 10-3
this year..WOW
Ps Feed the ball to Tate and he might be n the heisman watch - who knows?
