That is so sad!! I knew John when we were both in school at Auburn, and he was a stand-up guy in spite of all the troubles he had in the 90's. According to someone who knew him well, he had called his daughter Saturday to let her know he wasn't feeling well and wasn't going to the game. That may have been the last time anyone spoke to him.

Wow.....I just heard him on the radio not too long ago on Sportscall on 93.9....Maybe a couple of weeks ago. Sad indeed. He went through a lot in the 90's with the Bama mess. Good Auburn man.

Here's a local write-up on him from the paper where he was a "columnist":

The Auburn Villager - www.theauburnvillager.com - Auburn, Ala. - Newspaper

He and I went out a couple of times back in school - a really nice guy. He didn't deserve all that he had to endure as aftermath to that bama mess.

You should see the "class" remarks being made on tidesports.com about him - disgusting.

Auburn has lost one of its biggest fans. His insight through the radio and print will truly be missed. WDE forever JT!
