I just read that Memphis is interested in Gus Malzahn, Trooper Taylor, and Tubbs for the new HC job. How do you guys feel about this? Do you think we are in danger of losing any of our guys to Memphis? I would like to think we'll be ok, but you never know.

I know I am biased, but I don't think that either Gus or Trooper would leave after just one year at Auburn. I think they both would like to have a little bit more of a track record (and hopefully success) at one place before taking it to the next level. I do however think they would interview if asked.

I feel the same way, and hope your exactly right. It would suck to lose one of these guys.
is Memphis interested in Gus? or is the REC interested in Gus leaving?
engaging one's brain and thinking just a little bit can be a liberating and enlightening proposition...........or not.

Regarding the Memphis job: I lived in Memphis 22 years...enjoyed it, nice city, fine people. However, these coaches would be insane to take this job...insane! The school is a basketball school 110%...always has been, ALWAYS will be. They have no football tradition, no facilities, and very little fan support. It would be a quick way to end promising coaching careers for Trooper and Gus...as for Tommy and Terry, I doubt seriously they would consider it. Big mistake if any of these guys go for this.
The thing about the Memphis job would be that if you can win 7-8 games there a year or more in C-USA then the big jobs would come in "in spite" of the basketball mantra of Memphis. Coaches have egos and think they can win anywhere or turn any program around.
