Default Rumor?

I'm told this year's Auburn defense has already allowed more points than any defense in Auburn history. And that the Tigers are dead last in the SEC in points allowed per game. Can anyone confirm this?

If it's true Shug Jordan must be rolling over in his grave!

I know they were close to being the all time worse defense in Auburns history. The LB's and DE's positions seem covered by recruiting so far, hopefully a couple of DT's pledge soon. The front 7 of the defense is awful.

This is easily the worst AU defense I have seen, by far.

Hrm, maybe I am not crazy after all.

I can't recall an Auburn team in my lifetime that has consistently given up so many points. Whether it be SEC teams or non conference teams.

why rumor? Statistics cannot be rumored.

Auburn has..already given up more points than ever... ever before, in the history of AU football.

And we have two games to go.

xaff, did you happen to notice we blitzed a lot Sat night?

I recall many on here screaming for Roof to blitz and that would solve all of our D's problems. You, I and a couple of others tried to rationalize that we simply dont have the depth or the talented personnel to carry out successful blitz schemes. So the verdict? Checkmate....we win. Case closed...

Our blitzes seem to come late and slow. Bad timing, coaching, or talent? For whatever reason, we can't get to any QB (with the exception of Coleman against Snead). Our linebackers seem to think too much one play and then run themselves right out of the next. Our front four seem to be good at times, but we never affectively bring any LBs or safeties up to assist in run defense. It does seem like we have less talent in the front seven than any time I can remember. We have 1 good player, a couple with promise, and no game changers. The secondary is just too green and thin to even comment on. I will say that the defense plays hard and never seems to give up. They're doing the best with what they have.
