Default Ben Tate

Is being over looked for the 2009 Heisman Memorial Trophy. He's done a lot for his team. In fact, he's just about carried this team on his back very little help.

True, but these days if you're on a team not even ranked in the top 25, you have to have other-worldly stats, and Tate, while having done well, doesn't have those kinds of numbers.

He's #8 in rushing yards, but tied for #48 with only 8 TDs (the top 10 guys have anywhere from 14 to 22), and he's #61 in yards per carry at 5.4 (the top 10 guys are all 6.8 or better.

So he's done a great, great job for us this year, but there are just too many other guys with similar and better numbers.

I do believe Tate is the front runner for the Maxwell trophy?

Krazy legs can prove everyone wrong next week - We have a tailback also and a d*(& good one. Mr Tate will prove that next week - if Todd will hand em de ball..

Dude - we are 7-5 and unranked. No one in the entire college universe is looking at us right now...

If that was true, then "we" wouldn't be going to a bowl game.

I know what you're thinking of replying with...Pappa Johns blah blah. Don't bother mullet.

Agreed. Once Tate is gone, we can concentrate on a franchise running back...

I believe that Tate is one of the top 5 backs in Auburn history. It would be interesting to see how his career stats compare to Alabama's past backs.

Good question, probably not well. It is embarassing to me that a Bama sophomore has eclipsed him this year. Hell, the Bama true-freshman second-stringer (Richardson?) outrushed him yesterday.

Tate is an incredible back and he will be playing on Sundays, I have no doubt. Had he come through Auburn just a couple years earlier (or even later, hopefully) he would have competed for a Heisman but with all the offensive turmoil and Auburn it was very hard for him to stand out and get the attention he deserved. His loss to graduation next year will be felt much harder than I thing anyone realizes.

Hrm, maybe I am not crazy after all.
