Default Punt Returner

Did Auburn sign anyone that could step in on Game 1 and take the punt returner job?

I agree. I think either Reed or Goodwin could step in and do it

5 STAR T. Reed can handle.

Special teams will have to improve if AU expects to move forward.
Fumbled punts, runinng east and west - not good last year..
Sore spot last year for sure - good question.

Senior CB Demond Washington, with a 40 time of 4.29.

The rest of the special teams (coverage, blocking etc) composed almost entirely of walk-ons was the problem.

that prob had something ta do with the drops -
the returners KNOWING that they didn't have much protection and were probably gonna get creamed as soon as they touched it -
I imagine that even Fair Catches were some-what affected....
still -
a good receiver knows they'll be hit after catching a pass, but just not at full-ramming speed like a returner is -

possibly, anyway .....

What about Gulley? Do you think he is out of the question?

One of my co-workers knows Chris Davis very well. She has watched him play football for several years and we talked about this very subject just the other day. She said Chris had at least one runback for a touchdown every game this year in hs. He is very fast but has great juking skills for aluding tackles and is not afraid of taking a hit. She is an Alabama fan and really wanted him to go to Bama. She said Auburn would be crazy not to put him back for punts and/or kickoffs as that was his specialty in high school.
