Talking "Comfort" food thread while waiting on Sept.

Responding here after reading these comments in the Dye forum:

There have been some pretty good food and drink threads over this past year in both the Bodda forum and the Dye forum; great ale/beer threads, whiskey (both with and without the "e") threads, barbeque threads (or BBQ if you prefer), and now pizza (some do consider cold "morning after" pizza the 'breakfast of champions' ). All great discussions to break the boredom while waiting on September to finally get here.

My choice of comfort food this summer while waiting on Auburn football to begin -- kosher ball park franks and garlic fries at Safeco Field. For those interested in a pretty good recipe imitating Grounder's fries to try at home, this "light" recipe is offered:

Barbecue, BBQ, or as underwood might say, BBQ!. It really doesn't matter how you spell it. It's ours, it's good and it could beat them yanks and their dadgum Brats any day. Just imagine.

never meant to imply that ball park fare beats out your 'home cooking' nor that you were the undisputed AUC BBQ "King"

just suggesting a possible conversation sparked by thinking about 'comfort food' and memories of past breakfasts over cold pizza

Ribeye steaks, loaded baked potatoes and plenty of Amberbock. I always feel better afterwards.

I need some comfort food about right now. I had sliced pork loin for supper, and a ham sandwich for dessert. Of course, both were accompanied with lots of fixin's. Now I'm feeling uncomfortable. What'll I do? I'm thinking bacon and cheese. Any other ideas?
