Default Is the Auburn/Alabama rivalry a microcosm of the world conflict

Is it possible for Muslims and non Muslims to coexist or does it require the death penalty for one?

Obama to reach out to Muslim world with Mideast trip

Just a thought

Well, many of us know of families that are mixed Auburn/Alabama fans. I actually have a really good friend, like a brother, that is a HUGE Bama fan. He has actually bought my boys a set of Auburn footbal cards. Now, I dont see any non Muslim buying a Muslim a turbin or a Muslim buying a Christian a Cross necklace. The basis of religion, especially for extremist, goes a lot deeper spiritually. Now, there are a lot of fans for our teams that will go neck and neck on some issues but when something serious comes up, those lines are crossed to lend a helping hand. This in most cases does not happen when referring to religion.

Clever thought, but I think the religions run much, much deeper.

I'm sure you could find Auburn and Alabama fans side by side fighting for things like civil rights, our country, freedom of speech, etc. There are just things that are bigger than Auburn and Alabama, like our country.

But when it comes to extremists in the Muslim world, it wouldn't matter if aliens landed here to destroy earth, they would not stand by a Christian to defend earth and mankind, no chance. They would simply alternate shots, aliens, the christians, then aliens, then christians.

That's what the Clinton's and Pelosi's and Obama's of our government don't get. They think you can just sit down, understand each other, have friendly "dialog", and get a long.

The only thing to understand about the extremist side is that they believe Isreal, and by association the United States, should be wiped off the face of the earth...exterminated, eliminated. Not for what we've done or what we do, but because of the essence of who we are, and nothing more.

They have the purest form of hatred there is....it's not because of something you did, or because you are mean, or because you cheated them, or because you cause them harm...it's simply because you're you.

just a thought...but a lot of people made a lot of money off of the Cold War......it is over.

some people made a lot of money off of the Crusades...they have been over for a while...

what if the PTB's (and no, I dont mean Lowder ) could combine the two events......a "religious Cold War" for the 21st Century....man the cash that would role in and the economies that would be stimulated.......

now all I (we) have to do is figure out which stocks to buy, hang on for the ride and hope no one ever launches any of those damn things.....

ahh....the joys of "risk and reward"

You know this could be what the talk radio host and message boards are up to. Let's see Paul Finebaum = Rush Limbaugh
