I always thought Schumacher was one of the best racers to ever sit in a car and push the gas. He won 7 straight titles. Would have been more had he not retired prematurely. I always thought it would have been nice to see some sort of Iroc race with Schumacher, Stewart, Gordon and Earnhardt back in the mid-late 90's, when MS ruled F1, Stewart ruled IRL and Gordon/Earhardt were "running the show/passing-receiving the torch" in Nascar. That wouldve been a goodie....

hard to argue against Schumacher.....jmho but I would go with Mario Andretti as the best as he had success in F1, NASCAR & Indy/CHAMP Car.........

would like to see Schumacher run Daytona, Bristol & Indy (both of them)..but also understand why he did not and would not.

No doubt, Mario was the man.

Got to see Schumacher race twice at the Canadian Gran Prix in Montreal. He was one of the best ever, no doubt, but like it is in many other sports, he was also often part of the best team in the sport.

My personal favorite in F1 was Ayrton Senna of Brazil. He unfortunately died in a wreck quite a while ago. But when it rained, it was an absolute given that he would win. For some reason when they ran on the rain tires, he could whip that car around like it was a Ford Focus from Hertz. Amazing control of a machine that is quite twitchy at the limit....and those guys are always at the limit.

If anyone ever gets a chance to take a vacation to Montreal in June, set it up with the Canadian Gran Prix, there is nothing in the world like F1 racing. The first time you see them going down a straight headed into a chicane, you will swear on your life they are going to go straight through the barrier, because it seems physically impossible to brake in time given their speed. Really is amazing, and the track is on an island in the St Laurence river.

True, but I've been to many Indy Car races, ovals and road courses, as well as ALMS at Road Atlanta, and i'm tellin ya, the F1 cars will still amaze you, even after seeing all the others.

Another really neat aspect to the F1 races are all the nationalities represented from around the world. Its almost like being at an olynpic event or something. Anyway, Montreal is nice in June, anyone who gets a chance should check it out.
