Default Ignorance or apathy?

When it comes to Auburn basketball it seems that the fans neither know nor care.

Very few comments in this board.

No concern over the direction of the program. No worries that Jacobs seems busy drawing pictures of unicorns and mooning over photos of Chizik than he does paying attention to the slow and steady march to insignificance of the basketball program.

Auburn will miss the post-season again this year. Auburn will be sub-500 in the SEC again this season.

There's no excuse for it.

Things have to change.

If nothing else worries you, consider this: Will Jacobs pull the same head-in-the-sand act if Chizik is stumbling along with nothing to show after five years?

Would seem to be his standard MO. He either waits too long to act and allows the program to scrape the bottom (baseball) or he butchers what should be fairly routine negotiations (Marsh, Muschamp, Tuberville) or he jerks around and makes rash decisions (Chizik).

I freely admit that I watch basketball because it is in the interim. And even then around March. So, in my case it is ignorance....I do care about the state of AU athletics, however, so its not apathy. That being said I am unsure of the situation. I was under the impression that Lebo was a good coach, SEC basketball was just in trouble all the way around? A breakdown, if you will? It would help me out.
Although, I did laugh out loud in class at the images you presented of JJ mooning over pics and drooling while drawing unicorns.

Glad I could brighten your day. Chivalry and all that...

You should not be looking at this mess in class, however. For shame!

People will start to care when they start winning. I remember when Doc, Porter, and Co. were winning and you couldn't get into a home game. I like to watch basketball and tune in everytime Auburn is on TV (which is seldom). How much is a game now? It used to be $1.

Yea I think we need a new coach. I mean we've had basically 5 years of the exact same team...

The fundamentals of AU BB (as with just about any sports program) is that fans will support the team if they win. Put a desirable product on the court and people will buy it. This program has good players but no great ones. This program has steady players but no flashy ones. And, unfortunately, there have been too many trouble makers and players coming and going. The news coming from the men's program is consistently bad. All this adds up to a failing support for the program.

Until we get a coach, or convince CL, to recruit Alabama first then it is very unlikely we will see any changes. If we expect different results (such as winning) then we need to do things differently and that starts with recruiting.

Here is a blueprint for annual recruiting: 2 or 3 from Alabama; 1 or 2 from GA; and 1 or 2 from FL. Why should we recruit anywhere else?

LOL...I will take that as a 'Don't worry your pretty little head about it.'
Which, I won't. You will explain it on here sooner or later.

I love AU basketball. I was a regular in the 80s while in school. Watching the girls play before the guys who had "Chocolate Thunder", Chuck Person...it's been said by Marshall & others: when a coach starts winning, fairweather fans will return. If we can have some winning years in a row...I am following Fortner's Tigresses closely

Not in the least.

I only meant that your classwork should come first and that you shouldn't be fiddling around on a message board while you should be soaking up knowledge.

Yes, I know there is vast knowledge to be soaked here. You can learn all about LOL's, butchered grammar, misspelled words, mangled syntax and blustering e-courage. But none of that will make you a dime in the real world.

Hmmm. And I'm supposed to be "working" as I type this. Perhaps I, too, need to reconsider priorities. Hmmmm...
