Thanks for the suggestion, auusn1999. It's on our agenda for tomorrow.
I imagine most of you saw the Auburn - Ole Miss women's game and/or have read real reports on it by now (except maybe Sweetheart who might not have had a good sober view).
So I'll limit my comments in this report, and maybe mention a thing or two they may not show on TV.
Auburn did just enough to win. Sometimes in a tournament that is necessary.
Before the game the AU players were presented with the regular season trophy. Most UT fans applauded. They were 50 per cent of the crowd even this afternoon.
A two-minute interval midway through the second half was very telling. CNF gave Boddie that much of a rest, with the game seemingly well in hand. With her out of the game, Auburn's offense went out of sync and opened the door for the Ole Miss rally, which continued even after she returned. Our team is even more dependent on Boddie than I had realized.
Big Brother is watching us here. During timeouts a crew of a dozen or so guys in black suits rings the court, facing the stands. They're much more intimidating than the Pinkertons at Turner Field. One of them looks like Coach Orgeron and another like I imagine GreaseyWeasel must look. So I did not imbibe during timeouts, 89, only while the clock was running.
Our ladies are great passers, and they seem to enjoy making a good pass as much as shooting. This amateur perceives that sometimes they pass overly much and pass up some scoring opportunities.
Ole Miss has some strong physical players, and Bonner was clobbered hard a few times. The Rebel Rowdies are not quite as bad as the Stanford Lady Thugs of a few seasons back, but close.
Maybe the guys in black should have been monitoring the Rebel players rather than the crowd. Compared to crowds at the men's tournament or at Talladega or at Legion Field, this one is relatively elderly and sedate.
