AUBURN, Ala. — Because they play in an old-school arena outfitted with wooden seats, it seems fitting that the Auburn Tigers ended the University of Tulsa's basketball season by effectively deploying an old-school basic — aggressive man-to-man defense.
TU relies heavily on center Jerome Jordan and guards Ben Uzoh and Ray Reese, but on Friday the Golden Hurricane stars had a rough experience.
In a second-round National Invitation Tournament contest witnessed by 4,092 at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum, Auburn rolled to a 74-55 victory. Jordan and Reese scored a combined total of nine points on 4-of-15 shooting.
