I'm real worried about this one, we don't have any big men to match up with theirs...

We'll just make sure to trap them on the post like we have with all the other bigs we've played the 2nd half of the season. They're not THAT big. Their 7 footers are simply secondary role players. Nothing more. They don't score a lot nor get a whole lot of minutes. Boxing them out/rebounding will be the key. Other than those guys, they're not any bigger than us. We will actually have size on their guards, and Barrett shouldn't have too many problems. The question is will they be able to generate enough offense on our defense because their defense in the middle of the NCAA. Very mediocre. They're a slower paced team than we are. It will be one of the best offenses going against one of the best defenses. They like to play Man2Man so Vot needs to stay out of foul trouble and he should have a big night.

That is a very accurate assesment of our team (Baylor fan)... Should be a close one in my opinion, and could go either way. Good luck Tigers, and Sic'em!

Pretty accurate except these parts.

Baylor has a very good BB team and will be tough to match up with. Looking forward to a good game and after not being in postseason for several years I am definately enjoying this run in the NIT. WAR EAGLE!!

Baylor averages 68 possessions per game and Auburn 70. Not a huge difference, but enough for one to be considered moderately fast paced and the other on the average side. Auburn is in the top 25 in defensive efficiency. Baylor is in the top 25 in offensive efficiency. And Baylor has played man all the way up to the end of their regular season. Whether they continue with zone in this game like they've been testing out lately remains to be seen, but I kind of doubt it. It's been working for them, but if they do start out in their zone and Waller and Co. start off hot, it will be man to man the rest of the way. In which case go straight to Barber and let Barrett do his thing with the dribble drive. Not sure of what I said was wrong. Baylor HAS been man to man most of the year. Not sure how you can argue that.

BU will be in a zone, there isn't even a question about it. And are 5-1 since switching to it, with all wins being over postseason teams: Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Georgetown, VA Tech, and the lone loss being to NCAA #3 seed Mizzou after playing 4 games in 4 days.

Baylor can play fast or slow. It doesn't really matter because the personnel can do either. BU usually plays at the opponents pace however. The zone defense allows the BU players to not expend as much energy.

But I do appreciate your effort of trying to tell me, as a season ticketholder, what I don't know about the team.

Waller loves the zone. I'm looking forward to him getting the first wide open shot, especially after having an off night last game And about not expending as much energy on the zone, that will not beat us. They're going to have to play an EXTREMELY hard working zone to work against us, taking some away from the offense. Ask Bama, and more recently Florida what happens when it breaks down against us, and it will at some point. There will be plenty of holes at least at some point in the game. Reed and Frankie have been great at finding them lately. And since you say Baylor likes to play to the pace of their opponents, that works in our favor. We need to be playing at our sped up pace to have better success with the zone. A slower pace will really be bad for us. Obviously if either team is shooting from 3 a whole lot better than the other, that team will be ahead most of the game. And both have pretty even 3 point shooters. Baylor has 4 30% or better. We have 4.

If I were a betting man, I'd go with Baylor. They are just HOT right now. My Texas friends told me how good they were right now.
