Default Will Lebo be back next season?

Before, the question seemed to be whether he had done enough so that Auburn wanted him back. Now, it looks like VCU is interested in him... but is the VCU interest for real or is VCU trying to save face for a SEC team plucking their coach from them?

Galen may or may not coach the team next year but I bet he could get 1 NIT bid in 5 years. If Lebo even talks to VCU I'm done with him. Period.

Cool

Sonny Smith bolted for VCU. Not like it hasn't happened before. Also, VCU AD and Lebo went to school together.

I hope we can keep Jeff Lebo.

The focus at VCU now becomes Grant's replacement.

VCU athletic director Norwood Teague said his initial list includes Rams assistant Tony Pujol, Auburn head coach Jeff Lebo, Florida assistant Shaka Smart and Texas assistant Russell Springmann.

If Lebo leaves it will not be a huge loss. It may be tough to get a big name HC with several other programs looking to fill coaching vacancies already. But one NIT bid in 5 years does not make Lebo irreplacable

Lebo should and will be back next season. The buyout would be to much for VCU to afford. It's hard to believe that folks want him gone just as he is getting things turned around on the Plains.

I would be thrilled if VCU took Lebo off our hands for us, he'll be gone after next year anyway.

Auburn has been very patient with Lebo's building process of the BB program, you can bet someplace like VCU would not give him 5 years to get a bid in the NIT. Next season will tell alot about Lebo's coaching ability with losing Barrett, Barber, and Robinson. Even with the loss of those players Auburn fans expect Lebo to lead the BB team to the NCAA tournament next season, if not I expect Lebo to be fired. If he cant rebuild the BB program in 6 years than its obvious he is not the man for the job.

VCU also a recent history of tournament teams.I can't remember the last time I had reason to be excited about the Auburn's b-ball program.Lebo has undergone alot of injuries and other player problems ;this is really health wise the best year that he has had at AU.I see the coaching skill he has shown this last year and have been impressed and his players love him and played their hearts out for him this year.Unless the team takes a dramatic step backwards next season then he has my support. The future is looking up.
