Gabe Gross bealts a home run for the Rays

AUBURN - Some of the more famous players in Auburn's baseball history will return to Plainsman Park tongiht for the annual Baseball Celebrity Home Run Derby.

Current major leaguers Gabe Gross, Tim Hudson and David Ross will be joined by Bo Jackson, Frank Sanders and by Hal Baird, the winningest coach in Auburn baseball history.

Todd Jones, a 16-year major league veteran and long-time Auburn fan, will also be on hand. Current players Ryan Jenkins and Kevin Patterson will participate in the home run derby, which will be followed by a nine-inning scrimmage.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. There is a minimum $1 donation, with all money benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County.

There will be drawings throughout the night for prizes including autographed baseballs and Under Armour gear.

Fans are encouraged to park in the parking deck or the new arena lot.
All cars must be moved after the event is over due to the
Auburn-Kentucky football game Saturday.
