Under Armour All-America running back Michael Dyer, the nation's top running back prospect according to ESPN/Scouts Inc., rushed to the top spot of the Arkansas career rushing list Friday night.

Dyer ran for five touchdowns on 18 carries in a 47-14 win for Little Rock (Ark.) Christian Academy over Lakeside, according to ArkansasSports360.com. Dyer needed 28 yards before Friday's game to break Vernon Hicks' record of 7,122 set in 1998.

Dyer broke the record on his fourth carry, a 22-yard touchdown run.

“I knew it was coming tonight,” Dyer said. “I just had to go out and play my game and let the record happen. The record means a lot. I was ready to break it. My offensive line did a great job opening up holes.”

Dyer and Little Rock have two games left. They hit the road next week and finish up the regular season at home against Pulaski Academy in a game that will be televised on ESPNU. Little Rock coach Justin Kramer has told us Dyer plans to make his commitment announcement known sometime during the week of the Pulaski game.
