Auburn's football team practiced for some two hours on Wednesday in preparation for Saturday's rivalry game at Georgia. The Tigers got high marks from head coach Gene Chizik.

"As you would expect, it’s been a pretty spirited week," Chizik said. "We’ve had two, actually three, good days of practice."

* Wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor said junior Tim Hawthorne has had an outstanding week of practice and should get considerable playing time against Georgia. He said Hawthorn will play the 5 position with Tommy Trott.

* Chizik gave no more details on freshman Travante Stallworth's knee injury, but he said Stallworth is coping well.

"He’s doing great," Chizik said. "He’s disappointed, as we all are. He also understands those things happen. He’ll get by and he’ll get through the whole injury situation. Mentally, I think he’s as good as you could expect a guy to be at this point. That’s where he is."

Stallworth was injured covering a kickoff last Saturday against Furman. Chizik said Tuesday he will not play against Georgia.
