We know Auburn is going to back to a bowl
game after a one-year absence. Where will it be? It's hard to say.
Obviously, Auburn's bowl status would be upgraded significantly by an upset of Alabama on Nov. 27. But if that doesn't happen, the Tigers will be in something of a scrum with other middle-of-the-pack SEC
teams.
Alabama and Florida both figure to go to BCS
bowls. Either LSU or Ole Miss will probably go to the Capital One Bowl, with the other most likely to land in the Chick-fil-A Bowl or the Cotton Bowl.
Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia and Arkansas all appear likely to finish with 7-5 records. Either the Chick-fil-A or Cotton, the Outback, Music City and Liberty would almost certainly divide up those four teams.
It's hard to say at this point who would go where. Upsets in the final two weeks of the season could also change things.
If the Tigers could have held on against Georgia last Saturday, they would have probably been headed for the Cotton Bowl. It didn't happen, and now the bowls and the SEC office will have to sort things out.
