They don't like to talk about it a lot or even think about it, but football players know it. Any play in any game could be their last.

Zac Etheridge's terrifying injury against Ole Miss reminded his teammates yet again just how fleeting it can all be. College football is a violent game played by big, strong and fast men. It's dangerous. No doubt about it. ...

Speaking of Etheridge, he might be the most respected player on Auburn's football team. His teammates admire him for his work ethic, his knowledge, the way he plays the game and, most of all, the kind of person he is. Even if he never plays another snap, that's a lot to be proud of. ...

Auburn players didn't leave last Saturday's 33-20 win over Ole Miss with a lot of respect for quarterback Jevan Snead. They say Snead was frustrated by the Tiger pass rush and griping at his teammates throughout the game. He even kicked Auburn defensive end Antoine Carter for blocking him on Walt McFadden's touchdown interception return. ...

If you look closely at Georgia's performance in a 41-17 loss to Florida last Saturday, the Bulldogs played fairly well other than having crucial turnovers. It would be a mistake to think they won't be a formidable foe in Athens next Saturday. ...
