Alabama head coach Nick Saban's phone rang Friday night. Maybe he was watching highlight tapes of some 2010 prospects, or maybe he was just sitting in the easy chair watching a movie.

Well, if he was taking a small break from things related to football, then he quickly switched mindsets.
ESPNU 150 Watch List free safety Jarrick Williams (Prichard/M.T. Blount) was the person dialing Saban's number, and the prep prospect knew exactly why he was calling the Tide head coach.
"I had just gotten tired of all the commotion," said the 6-foot-2, 195-pounder, laughing. "I just told Saban that I was ready to commit."
Alabama and Auburn were long thought to be the two programs at the top of Williams' list of suitors. He agreed.
"It kind of just came down to Alabama over Auburn," he said.
But why? Was it the fact that Alabama has been cleaning up in recruiting since Saban's arrival? Or that Auburn is pretty much starting over with a new head coach?
"Alabama just felt like home when I visited there," he said.
Other schools vying for Williams' signature were Oklahoma, Florida, LSU, Florida State, Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Kansas State, among others.
Williams said he doesn't yet know if he will try to enroll early for the spring 2010 semester.
As a junior last season, he totaled 94 tackles and two interceptions. He returned one for a touchdown.
