Freshman goalkeeper Amy Howard earned national attention
AUBURN – After being named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday, Amy Howard picked up two national honors on Tuesday.
For her outstanding performance in Auburn’s scoreless tie with top-ranked North Carolina as she was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week and a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer.

Howard, from Mandeville, La., saw North Carolina fire off 40 shots her
way and stopped them all, establishing a career-high
with 12 saves.

Howard, who was named to the Duke Nike Classic all-tournament team
following the match, leads the SEC in saves (49) and saves per game
(6.12), is sixth in save percentage (.860) and 10th in goals against
average (0.94), having posted two shutouts.

Howard was the only freshman on this week’s Soccer America Team of
the Week and was one of three freshmen listed in the 18 Primetime
Performers.
