Auburn offensive line commitment Shon Coleman knew Ed Christian was ready to be a Tiger before the Auburn coaching staff did.

Coleman, 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds from Olive Branch (Miss.) High School, was in Auburn for the Kentucky game Saturday, and he was talking with Christian, the Tigers' most recent commitment, during the game.

“We were just talking about how we have a special opportunity to come in and play early here at Auburn,” Coleman told us. “He told me at halftime that he was going to commit to Auburn.”

Christian, 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds from Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes, committed Sunday afternoon in a meeting with Auburn coach Gene Chizik.

Christian said he enjoyed talking with Coleman during the game.

“We just saw each other and I recognized him and he recognized me and we started talking,” Christian said. “It was fun.”
