AUBURN - NCAA Tournament and Southeastern Conference championship banners were unveiled Sunday at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum. And Texas A&M promptly showed things have changed for Auburn's women's basketball team.

The No. 8 Aggies pulled away from a 19-19 tie to lead 36-26 at halftime and poured it on in the second half for a 79-59 victory.

Auburn lost for the second time in three games and fell to 2-2. Texas A&M improed to 3-0.

"We are not the team we are going to be in a month and a half (when SEC play begins)," Auburn coach Znell Fortner said. "We are going to get better. This is a game that have to go back and learn a lot from. Our defense has to impvove and we have to find more ways to score. We will do that."

Alli Smalley scored 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting, but she was the only Tiger in double figures. The Tigers had 23 turnovers that led to 32 Texas A&M points.

Danielle Adams led Texas A&M with 22 points.

Auburn plays plays Tuesday night against Georgia Southern at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
