Alex Golesh

Head Coach

Athletics Director, John Cohen, hired Golesh on November 30th, 2025. Golesh becomes the 33rd coach in program history. He comes to Auburn after serving three years, as head coach, at South Florida. In his three seasons, Golesh compiled a record of 23-15. He led the Bulls to two bowl wins. Golesh also has power five coaching experience, as an assistant, at Illinois, Iowa State, Central Florida, and Tennessee. He grew up in Ohio and graduated, from Ohio State, in 2006. Golesh is married with two kids.

Kodi Burns

Associate HC/Co-Offensive Coordinator/WRs

Burns is making his third coaching stop at Auburn. In 2013, he served as a graduate assistant under former coach, Gus Malzahn. After two years away, Burns came back to be a part of Malzahn's staff in 2016. From then until 2018, Burns served as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers' coach. Then, in 2019, he became the passing game coordinator. Burns was a part of current head coach, Alex Golesh's, staff at USF. He has also coached at Samford, Middle Tennessee, and Tennessee. From 2022 to 2024, Burns served as the wide receivers' coach for the New Orleans Saints. He is also a proud Auburn alumnus. Burns came to the plains, as a quarterback, in 2007. After an up and down career, he transitioned to wide receiver in 2009. Burns helped Auburn win the 2010 national championship by catching the first touchdown of the game against Oregon.

DJ Durkin

Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers

Durkin is entering his 3rd season as Auburn's defensive coordinator. He took over, last year, as interim coach following the firing of Hugh Freeze. Durkin began his coaching career, in 2001, as a graduate assistant, at his alma mater, Bowling Green. Since then, he has coached for six power five conference teams. Half of those were with other SEC teams, including Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Florida. From 2016-2017, Durkin was the head coach for the Maryland Terrapins. In 2019, he served as a consultant for the Atlanta Falcons. Durkin is married with two kids.

Joel Gordon

Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

This will be the 5th year Gordon has coach alongside, head coach, Alex Golesh. The two coached one year together, at Iowa State, before their three seasons at South Florida. Gordon graduated, from Shepherd University, in 2003. He then had two stints, spanning eight seasons, as an assistant coach at his alma mater. In 2013, Shepherd University inducted Gordon into their university's hall of fame. He also served as the offensive coordinator at Emory and Henry University. Gordon is married with two kids.

Jacob Bronowski

Special Teams Coordinator

Bronowski began is coaching career, in 2016, after graduating from New Mexico. He spent two seasons, as the special teams coordinator, at Robert Morris. In 2020, Bronowski served as the special teams quality control coach at Central Florida. The following year, he was a special teams analyst for Tennessee. For two seasons, Bronowski served as special teams coordinator and a defensive assistant at the University of Miami-Ohio. During his time there, 24/7 named Bronowski as the 2023 Special Teams Coordinator of the year. That same year, 24/7 also named him to their All-Assistant team. Bronowski's 2023 accolades also included helping the Red Hawks win that year's MAC Championship. In 2024, he coached special teams and tight ends at Pittsburgh. Bronowski is married with two sons.

Tyler Hudanick

Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line

This will be the seventh season for Hudanick coaching alongside, head coach, Alex Golesh. Their journey, together, began, in 2020, when Hudanick served as a graduate assistant, at Central Florida. The two then went to Tennessee together, where Hudanick coached the offensive line as a graduate assistant. 2026 will be Hudanick's third season being a run game coordinator. It will be his 4th season actually coaching the offensive line. Before entering the coaching world, Hudanick played, offensive line, at Central Florida. He helped UCF win the 2017 and 2018 American Conference Championship. That 2017 team, Hudanick was a part of, finished the year undefeated and beat Auburn in that year's Peach Bowl.

Tim Banks

Co-Defensive Coordinator/Safeties

Banks began his coaching career, in 1996, after graduating from Central Michigan. As a player, he was a two-time All-MAC selection. He returned to his alma mater, in 2007, and served as their defensive coordinator. Banks helped the Chippewas win two MAC conference championships. In 2011, he helped the Cincinnati Bearcats lead the nation in tackles for loss. This led to Banks being nominated for the Broyles Award. From 2016 to 2020, he made a stop at Penn State. Banks helped the Nittany Lions win the 2017 Big Ten Championship, earning them a spot in the Rose Bowl. In 2024, during his time at Tennessee, Banks helped the Volunteers finish 7th in scoring defense. This resulted in them earning a spot in the College Football Playoff. He was also named a 2024 Broyles Award finalist.

Coleman Huntzler

Assistant Coach/Bucks & Edges

Huntzler comes to Auburn after seven previous stops inside the SEC. Last year he served as the defensive coordinator at Mississippi State. Huntzler has also coached at Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, South Carolina, and Florida. Three of those coaching stops included working alongside, current defensive coordinator, DJ Durkin. In 2017, Huntzler was nominated for the Broyles Award. During his coaching career, his players have earned over 30 all-conference honors. He has also coached over 25 All-Americans.

Vontrell King-Williams

Assistant Coach/Defensive Line

King-Williams will be entering his fourth season on the Plains. This will be his second year coaching the defensive line. He has also served the Auburn Tigers as an analyst and defensive tackles coach. King-Williams played collegiately at Illinois and UTSA. After graduating, he served as a graduate assistant at Eastern Michigan and Liberty. While at Liberty, King-Williams helped the Flames finish ranked in the top 25. This was the first time Liberty had accomplished this feat. In 2022, King-Williams returned to Eastern Michigan and coached the defensive tackles. Last year, he helped Auburn's defense hold teams to 99.3 rushing yards per game and 329.2 total yards per game.

Larry Porter

Assistant Coach/Running Backs

Porter is entering his second stint with the Tigers. He previously served as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator under, former head coach, Gus Malzahn. In 2017, Porter helped Auburn win the SEC western division title and earn a trip to the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl. After leaving Auburn, the first time, Porter coached at North Carolina and West Virginia. In 2007, Porter was a part of Les Miles's staff at LSU. That was the same year the Tigers won the national championship over Ohio State. Many of his players topped 1,000 yards and some even got drafted to the NFL. Porter lettered at Memphis and is a member of the school's Hall of Fame. He is married with three children.

Larry Scott

Assistant Coach/Tight Ends

Scott comes to Auburn after spending six seasons, as the head coach, at Howard University. During his tenure, Scott compiled a record of 23-37. He won two MEAC championships and led his team to an appearance in the 2023 Celebration Bowl. That is the equivalent of a national championship but specifically for HBCUs. Scott brings seven years of experience from the power five level. He previously coached at Miami (FL), Tennessee, and Florida. In 2015, Scott served, as the interim head coach, at Miami. He accumulated a 4-2 record, but the Hurricanes lost that year's Sun Bowl. Scott played offensive tackle, at South Florida, and coached there for seven years. He is married with three kids. His son, Larry, is on staff here at Auburn too.

Demarcus Van Dyke

Assistant Coach/Cornerbacks

Van Dyke comes to Auburn after working alongside, head coach, Alex Golesh, for two years at South Florida. There he served as the Bulls cornerback coach. Van Dyke spent five years coaching at Miami (FL). In 2023, he was the cornerbacks coach at FIU. Van Dyke graduated, from Miami, in 2011. The Oakland Raiders picked him, in the third round, of that year's draft. Van Dyke played six years in the NFL. In addition to the Raiders, Van Dyke spent time with the Steelers, Chiefs, Vikings, and Falcons. In 2024, the American Football Coaches Association named him to the 35 under 35 list. Van Dyke is married with two kids.

Brad Wilson

Assistant Coach/Outside Linebackers

Wilson comes to Auburn after spending one year with, head coach, Alex Golesh, at South Florida. There he served as a defensive assistant and linebacker coach. Before that, Wilson coached eight years, as defensive coordinator, at Indiana State. He coached 20 All-Conference players and two of those were named All-Americans. Wilson helped get Indiana State's defense out of last place in all major categories. From 2012 to 2016, he served as the defensive coordinator at Wayne State. Wilson earned his Bachelor's Degree from Ashland University. He then served as a graduate assistant, at Bowling Green, in 2007. Wilson is married with three kids.
