The offseason for the Auburn Tigers has been filled with a lot of change ever since the hiring of Alex Golesh as the head coach of the program.

Since that Sunday after a 27-20 loss to Alabama in the Iron Bowl, Auburn has begun to welcome the next era of the team to the Plains. It has included a number of changes on the coaching staff and some transfers being brought in along the way.
The Tigers saw 13 players come over with Golesh from USF, five of which were wide receivers. Overall, Auburn has a youthful receiving corps lined up for this season, but one of those USF transfers has garnered a lot of praise.
That transfer is senior Chas Nimrod.
Wide receivers coach Kodi Burns touched on the talent that Nimrod has brought to the room has been valuable.
“I think the biggest thing that we have with Chas is he's showing the guys in the room what value looks like,” Burns said. “He’s got a skill set, he's explosive, he can run, he's got ball skills and again, he has experience.”
After spending two years at Tennessee with Josh Heupel, Nimrod transferred to be with Golesh and USF in 2025, where he made 23 receptions for 466 yards and three touchdowns, being fourth in receiving yards for the Bulls.
His drive and passion for getting better is something that has caught the eye of his teammates and made them exclaim how much of a factor he’ll be in the fall.
“Every day you come out you're going to get the same thing from Chas,” said wide receiver Jeremiah Koger. “I can see he's truly grinding. He's ready, he's here, he's going to make a big splash this year.”
Nimrod has also played the role of being a mentor to many of the younger receivers, like freshman star DeShawn Spencer out of Saraland.
Spencer said he is thankful for all of the guys from USF because they have helped him adjust to Golesh’s style of play. He did not hesitate though to talk about how he looks up to Nimrod, who has inspired him to mold his game in new ways.
“Those older guys, they do a great job of helping me get better,” Spencer said. “(Nimrod has) helped me get better, and just being able to watch him day in and day out with everything he can do with his ability makes me want to add stuff that he does to my own game.”
It’s all molded together with his intelligence of the game itself, a part of Nimrod that Burns says makes him stand out.
Playing in the SEC will not be new for the senior, which is a background that Burns thinks will elevate the receivers room as a whole.
“From a standpoint of Chas having a big football knowledge, he has that, he's been really good for the room,” Burns said. “He's played a ton of ball, really experienced, been in the SEC and always has been playing at a high level. So, he's had a really good fall camp so far.”
