The Auburn Tigers will have a late addition joining their squad for the 2026 season with the ongoing situations concerning the NCAA’s 5-for-5 eligibility rule.

On Monday, Tray Taylor was added to the Tigers roster during the final week of the program’s preseason camp period. Taylor, a wide receiver who was most recently at Troy, was granted an additional season of eligibility.
Taylor was granted additional eligibility earlier this month and is part of the 2022 recruiting class, which has been the subject of a number of battles and lawsuits pertaining to the NCAA’s eligibility rule.
Taylor played his 2022 and 2023 seasons at Tyler Junior College before transferring to play at Coastal Carolina in 2024. After one season with the Chanticleers, the wide receiver made his way to Troy before now joining Auburn and Alex Golesh.
In his two previous seasons in Division I football, Taylor appeared in 27 games and started three of those. His performance saw him catch 48 passes for 761 yards and four touchdowns.
At 5-foot-6, 150 pounds, Taylor was third in receiving yards for the Trojans and caught passes in 11 games during the campaign, including three in a Sun Belt Championship loss to James Madison.
The former Second Team JUCO All-American is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana.
