Golesh confirmed to the media that edge rusher J.J. Faulk is out for the entirety, if not almost all of, the regular season after having surgery on Wednesday morning.
The redshirt freshman injured his collarbone in practice earlier this week and was forced to have surgery, setting him back in his development and setting a long road of recovery ahead.
Faulk got on the field in three games in the 2025 season, but only recorded stats in one. In a 62-17 victory over Mercer, the Highland Home product recorded four tackles and one tackle for loss.
“He had surgery today,” Golesh said. “The hope is that towards the end of the season, end of November, December, we would have him. As of right now, he’d be out for the regular season, which stinks, but feel for him and he’s worked hard to put himself in a position to play.
Faulk had been seen taking second-team reps in the last few days of preseason camp practice and got important reps in the first scrimmage.
Faulk is now the third Auburn player to take on an extensive injury, with Tai Buster being out for the first half of the year with a foot/ankle injury, and Devin Williams being out for the year with an injury to his knee.
Faulk is the younger brother of former Auburn defensive star Keldric Faulk, who got drafted to the Tennessee Titans in the most recent NFL Draft.
