Game week has arrived for the Auburn Tigers as they prepare to head to Atlanta to play in the Aflac Kickoff Game against the Baylor Bears on Saturday.

With all the final touches being put into place on the game plan, the excitement is filling up for the football season, especially in the players that will take the field in front of a packed crowd in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Auburn Undercover’s top 20 impact players watch list continues on with another player that the staff believes could make a monumental difference in how the team plays in 2026.
As a disclaimer, the poll was tabulated by rankings sent in from four people on the Auburn Undercover staff—Tyler Raley, Ryan Bartow, Caleb Jones and Jay Douglas. The rankings each person sent in were averaged, with the lowest score going at the top of the list.
Back to the defensive line is the direction this list goes as No. 7 is revealed, seeing another transfer in Cody Sigler who has been one of the hot names through preseason camp. Sigler is seeking to use what he did at Arkansas State and translate it to the SEC.

Performance in 2025:
After spending three seasons at West Alabama, Sigler went into his lone year at Arkansas State as an unquestioned leader and standout. In the 11 games that he appeared in in 2025, he started every single one of them, making his mark with the Red Wolves.
Sigler played his role on the defensive line with authority, racking up 35 total tackles on the year with five sacks and one fumble recovery.
Only two of the games saw him not record multiple tackles in his action, those being in losses to Louisiana Monroe and Southern Miss. He did, however, make the most use of his time, securing four or more tackles in four games.
Sigler closed out his season strongly, having six tackles in two out of his final three games, those being against Louisiana and Missouri State. Between the two, he also notched two of his sacks and his lone fumble recovery.
The New Hope native finished fourth on the Red Wolves defensive line in tackles for the year, and his efforts as a whole earned him Second Team All-Sun Belt honors at the end of the season.
Preseason camp intel:
There have been certain members of the defensive unit that received high praise all throughout preseason camp as the first game approaches, and it is safe to say that Cody Sigler was one of those players.
Since transferring over from Arkansas State, Sigler has made a bright impression to the coaching staff, garnering attention each day.
In that, he has earned the opportunity to play a bigger role on the defensive front, creating more depth where he can. One of those ways he is doing that is by cross-training at different spots across the line, allowing him to truly learn the ins and outs of every role he could be asked to play.
He is also having to actively adjust to the new era he is playing in his career though, as playing in the Sun Belt does not provide everything that playing in the SEC does.
“The key thing I’ve been focusing on is these people are much bigger, much stronger, much faster and I’ve just got to be perfect on every rep,” Sigler said.
He is bringing determination to the table, a trait that many successful Auburn defensive linemen of old have had at the forefront of their play as well.
Right now, Sigler is slated to play a key role on the defensive interior at 308 pounds. However, he will likely be seen rotating all over the defensive line.
At the end of the day though, his expectation for the year is simple.
“Just dominate every game,” Sigler said. “You can sit there and say All-SEC, but if I bring to the table what I can every game, I feel like I can get any accolade I want. I’m just trying to dominate every game.”
