The first pitches of the college baseball season for the Auburn Tigers have traditionally been made inside of Plainsman Park, but Butch Thompson and his squad are heading to a unique location to begin 2027.

From Feb. 19-21, the Tigers will open up their 2027 campaign in the Bahamas, taking on the Penn State Nittany Lions in a three-game series at Andre Rodgers National Baseball Stadium.
Auburn and Penn State are participating in one of two weekend series to be played in what is called the Atlantis Collegiate Baseball Series, with North Carolina State and Michigan also taking part in a series of their own.
The Atlantis Collegiate Baseball Series is officially being held for the second time, with 2026 being the inaugural year. There was just one series in that event, with the Nittany Lions having played Indiana State.
Tickets are currently on sale and can be bought at Atlantisbaseball.com. Single-day passes are $40 each, while a pass for the entire series is $120 each.
Game times and streaming info have yet to be announced, but will be at a later date.
The Tigers have already scheduled two exhibition games for the fall, one coming in Biloxi, Mississippi against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and the other being in Pensacola, Florida against the Florida State Seminoles.
The series with Penn State will be the first time since 2023 that Auburn has opened up the year against a Big 10 opponent. The Tigers hosted the Indiana Hoosiers that year, taking the series by winning two games.
Auburn also hosted the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a series in 2026, coming out victorious by winning games two and three after losing the opener.
Auburn finished 42-22 in the 2026 season and 17-13 in SEC play. It lost in the super regional round for the second consecutive year, falling to the Ole Miss Rebels in two games.
