From hoops to football, Derek Godbolt emerging as major WR prospect

MOBILE, Ala. - Many kids grow up with hoop dreams. Then eventually some move to football where their size and athleticism is even more coveted.

That’s the case for wide receiver Derek Godbolt (Williamson/Mobile, Ala.) who picked up offers before ever even playing a varsity game of football.

He opened eyes at 7-on-7 camps in June.

Florida State, Mississippi State, Troy, Jackson State and Alabama State offered.
Godbolt played his first game August 21 in a 33-0 win over Baker (Mobile, Ala.
