Auburn Undercover is live at Jordan-Hare Stadium for the Auburn home opener, as the Tigers take on Southern Miss in Week 2.

GAME NOTES:
First Quarter
- Auburn has won the toss and deferred to the second half
- The opening kick goes through the end zone for a touchback.
- Andre Jordan Jr. picks the ball off for Auburn on the first play for the game and returns it to the house for the touchdown. Tigers up 7-0.
- Southern Miss pinned with two false starts in its opening two drives and goes three and out
- Touchdown run of 52 yards by Byrum Brown brought back on a holding call.
- After the holding call, Brown gets a pass complete to Chas Nimrod on third-and-17, but it only goes for 10 and the Tigers are forced to punt.
- Southern Miss is called for four false start in their first three drives of game so far.
- Southern Miss punts a couple plays after an illegal blindside block penalty took a first down away, punt downed at the Auburn 7.
- Auburn touchdown on a wide-open pass from Brown to Jonathan Echols, capping off a 93-yard drive to make it 14-0.
- Southern Miss goes for it on fourth-and-1 in its own territory, and Hampton lofts it, the pass is picked off by Auburn’s Andre Jordan Jr.
- After an Auburn touchdown pass was called incomplete from Brown to Koger, Alex McPherson drives home a 47-yard field goal to make it 17-0.
Second Quarter
- Southern Miss forced to punt back to Auburn for the third time. Elijah Melendez is getting a lot of pressure in the Golden eagles backfield.
- Auburn forced to punt on first drive of the second quarter.
- Southern Miss punts again on a drive started by Auburn DT and Opelika product Malik Autry recording his first collegiate sack.
- Auburn touchdown on fourth-and-3 from the Southern Miss 8 as Byrum Brown rolls out right and fires to DeShawn Spencer for the Tigers touchdown to make it 24-0 with 6:40 left in the half.
- First big chunk play for Southern Miss comes on a 41-yard catch and run from Ethan Hampton to Mario Sanders, putting the Golden Eagles in scoring position.
- We have reached the two-minute timeout in the first half, with the Golden Eagles at the Auburn 7-yard line with third-and-1 upcoming.
- Southern Miss gets on the board with a pass from Ethan Hampton to Steven Robinson for the touchdown with 24 seconds in the half. The Golden Eagles add a 2-point conversion with a pass from Jaylen Himes to Jeremiah Beck to make it 24-8.
- Alex McPherson ends the half strong for Auburn with a 55-yard field from the left hash to make it 27-8 Tigers.
Third Quarter
- Auburn scores on the opening drive of the second half, capping off a 75-yard drive with a 5-yard pass from Christian Neptune to Byrum Brown to go up 34-8 in the third.
- Southern Miss is forced to punt on its first drive of the second half after not converting a quarterback sneak on third-and-1.
- Auburn drives deep into Southern Miss territory, but Jeremiah Cobb fumbles the ball and the Golden Eagles recover on their own 4-yard line.
- Auburn’s defensive line causes pressure in the Southern Miss end zone, forcing Ethan Hampton to draw an intentional grounding for a safety. Cody Sigler is credited with a pressure and a sack on the play.
- On the ensuing possession, Auburn drives down the field with a stout rushing attack from Mabson and Washington, with Mabson finishing the drive with a 2-yard run with nine seconds left in the quarter to make it 43-8.
Fourth Quarter
- Southern Miss goes three and out on its first possession of the fourth quarter.
- Tristan Ti’a replaces Byrum Brown at quarterback. Looks like Brown’s day is done.
- Mabson with a big run and Ti’a connects with Brian Williams Jr. for a big play, but the drive stalls and Auburn turns it over on downs near the goal line.
- Auburn’s defense forces another turnover on downs with just over six minutes to go. Offense taking over at the Auburn 49-yard line.
- FINAL: Auburn 43, Southern Miss 8
