Auburn Head Coach Alex Golesh is set for his weekly press conference with the media, with Joel Gordon and DJ Durkin speaking as well.
Auburn Undercover is in attendance at the Woltosz Football Performance Center and will have updates throughout the conference.
Alex Golesh
- Golesh touted Jordan-Hare Stadium’s environment as being fantastic, but as for the game, wants to see the team clean up the tackling.
- Golesh was happy about the two-minute drill to finish the first half and that the backups came in and handled the ball well to finish the game well.
- Golesh said the Florida offense is a good one and truly efficient, using a lot of motion to create big plays.
- With the offensive line, the group was “physical” according to Golesh and did a lot of things better on Saturday.
- Golesh says the Florida offense creates good matchups for themselves, allowing plays to go for big gains, especially in the running game.
- His confidence in the running game comes from the backs caring about each other and growing with each other.
- Da’Shawn Womack and CK Murray both practiced Monday morning and Golesh expects both of them to likely play.
- Says the receivers have done good operationally, and that that group has continued to play hard.
Joel Gordon
- Interior offensive line was still not perfect, but he enjoyed the way they paved the path for the run game.
- Gordon says DeShawn Spencer is still young, but is “a guy that we trust.”
- Jonathan Echols had a solid week of practice leading into Southern Miss and is a guy that has limitless potential.
- With the offensive line, Gordon feels they need to get better, but there were improvements from Week 1 to Week 2.
- In terms of the downfield passing, Gordon said the deep shots take a little bit of time to get used to, especially with the environment.
DJ Durkin
- Says the Florida offense presents a lot of issues with their playmakers.
- Defense is going to have to communicate well, especially with leverage against Florida.
