At the halfway point of the month of September, the Auburn Tigers are sitting at 2-0 in 2026, the first season under Head Coach Alex Golesh.
The Tigers now have a big test in front of them as they take on the Florida Gators on Saturday night in Jordan-Hare Stadium, the first meeting between the two on the Plains since 2011.
The Gators welcomed a new head coach over the offseason in Jon Sumrall, who previously coached at Tulane and finished his final season in New Orleans with an appearance in the College Football Playoff.
With that has come a number of transfers from other programs, some of which seek to make a big impact in Gainesville this year.
With that in mind, here are five 2026 transfers to Florida from the offseason that should be on notice for Saturday’s action.
Eric Singleton Jr., wide receiver
Previous school: Auburn
There are no meetings in college football that quite match the energy of a player going against his former team for the first time after they leave. On Saturday, that is what Eric Singleton Jr. will be doing.
Singleton is currently listed as questionable for the meeting as listed on the SEC’s availability report on Wednesday evening. However, there is still a possibility he could play.
He has not recorded a stat with the Gators at this time, but on the Plains, Singleton notched 58 receptions for 534 yards and three touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 184-pound product possesses high speed and agility that fits into the Florida receiving corps well.
If he does play in Jordan-Hare Stadium, there’s no doubt the offense will look to utilize that to create some big plays.
Aaron Philo, quarterback
Previous school: Georgia Tech
His time at Georgia Tech did not see him get a lot of playing time for Brent Key, but Aaron Philo is now the man in Gainesville and looking to make a name for himself.
While being a junior, Philo is still fairly young in terms of his inexperience. However, Golesh describes him as a “sneaky good athlete,” something that puts him on watch for when he takes the field.
Despite having not played the best competition, Philo has performed, going 32-for-42 through the air with 517 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. He also has nine carries for 33 yards with a pair of rushing scores to go along with it, making him a threat near the goal line.
The road game will be his first big test in 2026, telling a lot about him as a player.
Harrison Moore, center
Previous school: Georgia Tech
The chemistry between a quarterback and his center is crucial to success. Luckily for Philo, Harrison Moore is that man for him, having also come from Georgia Tech.
Moore appeared in 11 games for the Yellow Jackets and started eight of them. As part of the Georgia Tech offensive line, his group finished third in the nation in sacks allowed with just nine given up.
In 2025, Moore earned an overall 63.6 grade by Pro Football Focus, with a 68.4 in pass blocking and 65.5 in run blocking. At 6-foot-4, 293 pounds, his protection on the interior will be crucial to Philo’s collectiveness during the game.
Kanye Clark, STAR
Previous school: UCLA
One of the few transfers on the defensive side of the football for the Gators, Clark has come in from UCLA and racked up seven tackles and a pass deflection in his two games of action so far.
Clark’s final season in Los Angeles saw him reel in 23 total tackles with two pass deflections and one forced fumble, with his best game coming in a loss to Washington, when he got five tackles and the forced fumble.
At 5-foot-10, 184 pounds, Clark is pretty average in size for a defensive back, but with the secondary having played a big part in rattling Byrum Brown in the first game of the year for Auburn, Clark will be a player to watch.
Patrick Durkin, kicker
Previous school: Tulane
There are more times than not when special teams can make a difference in a game, and Saturday certainly has the possibility to be one of those instances. One of the players that Sumrall brought from Tulane was Patrick Durkin, who he is hoping will deliver big on the road.
With the Green Wave, the now junior went 25-for-28 on field goals in 2025 with a long of 52 yards. He went 4-for-6 on tries from 50 yards and further, while going 41-for-42 on extra points.
In his first two games of action for Florida, he has gone 2-for-2 with a long of 53 yards, providing his distance that could become dangerous in a critical spot on Saturday.
