Auburn is nearly midway through its season, falling in its first road game to Tennessee 24-14 over the weekend to wrap up Week 5.

Elsewhere, Auburn saw its two biggest rivals power their way to a 5-0 start, while the rest of its remaining schedule produced mixed results. Here’s how the remainder of Auburn’s opponents fared in their Week 5 games.

Georgia

Result: Georgia defeated Vanderbilt 38-14.

Georgia took care of Vanderbilt at home to move to 5-0 this season behind another stellar performance from Gunner Stockton. The Bulldogs’ quarterback completed 25 of 32 passes for 295 yards, three passing touchdowns and no turnovers. Stockton’s stock continues to rise, as he’s now thrown for over 1,000 yards this season with a season completion rate of 75.5%. Not to mention his 13 passing touchdowns and just one intercepted pass.

Next up: Georgia (5-0) travels to Alabama (5-0)

LSU

Arkansas

Result: Arkansas lost 34-7 to Texas A&M.

Next up: Arkansas (2-3) hosts Tennessee (4-1)

Mississippi State

Result: Mississippi State lost 56-23 to Alabama.

Mississippi State could not keep pace with Alabama over the weekend. Kamario Taylor was intercepted twice and the Bulldogs fumbled the ball away twice, as the game got away from Mississippi State rather fast. Taylor appeared limited by an ankle injury and starting running back Fluff Bothwell carried the ball once before exiting the game with an injury.

Next up: Mississippi State (4-1) is on a bye week.

Samford

Result: Samford lost 33-14 to UAB.

Samford held its own against UAB in the first half and actually led the Blazers at halftime thanks to a 95-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. However, UAB shut out Samford in the second half. Quarterback Gabarri Johnson was intercepted three times in the loss.

Next up: Samford (1-4) travels to Chattanooga (3-3).

Alabama

Result: Alabama defeated Mississippi State 56-23.

Keelon Russell continues to light it up this season, and he seemingly had no issues on the road in Starkville. Russell completed 16 of 22 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns, while also scoring a rushing touchdown.

Running back Trae’shawn had two scores, with 14 carries for 66 yards rushing.
