On Tuesday, four-star power forward Davis Cochran announced on social media that he was commiting to the Tigers. The 6-foot-9, 220-pound big comes to the program from Brentwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee and chose Auburn over Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
According to his ESPN scouting profile, Cochran is ranked as the No. 19 player at his position in the country, while being the No. 46 player regionally and the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee.
Cochran made his official visit to the Plains in September, along with other 2027 commit, guard Jason Gardner Jr.
The interior force is an experienced rim protector that has a lot of length that allows him to reach shots even when he is not positioned right in front of a shooter. He also uses that length to secure rebounds on the inside, positioning himself in opportune spots.
On the offensive side of the floor, Cochran is a player that runs well in transition and can finish strong around the rim, but shows a need for improvement in the mid-range.
If he signs, Cochran is set to become the highest-rated signee out of Tennessee to join the program in its history.
The commitment comes on the heels of Auburn preparing for three exhibition games—one against Florida State on Oct. 14, one against Alabama on Oct. 22 and one against Samford on Oct. 29.
