Nobody around Auburn was surprised when Chris Rembert came off the board.

The Pittsburgh Pirates selected the Auburn second baseman in the second round of the Major League Baseball Draft. It was the reward for two seasons of proving he could hit SEC pitching. Rembert did not make his living chasing launch angle or putting on a show in batting practice. He controlled the strike zone, barreled baseballs and found a way to produce against the best arms in college baseball.
