The Auburn Tigers are beginning a string this weekend of four straight games that will kick off at 11:00am or 11:45 am. Head coach Alex Golesh told the media on Wednesday they have adjusted their approach to account for that. He says the players have seamlessly adjusted to the change.

“Everything has got to be locked and loaded by Friday night. There is no waking up Saturday, walkthroughs, meetings. We’re waking up and we’re going to play ball. That sense of urgency has also been easy to get throughout the message of what’s going on right now,” Golesh said
Auburn enters Saturday’s game against LSU after playing one of their most complete games offensively against Georgia. Golesh knows the consistency from last week will need to be there against a formidable Bengal Tigers defense.
“They are top 10 in the county in sacks. They’re top 20 in the county in total defense. Rushing defense top 10 in the country. They play really well. There’s continuity and they play really hard. It’s real. Their length, speed…it’s real,” Golesh said.
Auburn will be facing another dual threat quarterback this week in Arizona State transfer Sam Leavitt. He enters Saturday’s game having thrown for 1,785 yards and 14 touchdowns. Golesh shared some of the challenges Leavitt will pose to his defensive unit.
“He is really powerful as a runner. Does a good job in the pocket with pocket awareness. Looks like a veteran quarterback and he’s a guy that has gotten better and better and better. Huge challenge for us in the fact he can certainly move in the pocket, out of the pocket,” Golesh said.
On Monday, Golesh told the media there was no basking in the win over Georgia. He said everyone was at the facility on Sunday, watching film and getting ready for LSU. Auburn Undercover asked Golesh about his message to his players as the preparation for LSU winds down.
“When you are process driven rather than result driven, the result of that game has nothing to do with what Sunday looks like. That’s what we built and trained the entire winter, the entire spring, the entire summer. They are learning. I hope as we continue to build, I hope we become a process driven team,” Golesh said.
Auburn and LSU will meet for the 58th time on Saturday. It is their first meeting since 2023. LSU leads the overall series 33-24-1. The last time an unranked Auburn team beat a ranked LSU team was 2016. Daniel Carlson kicked six field goals and the clock ran out on LSU and Les Miles, who was fired the following day. Auburn walked out of Jordan-Hare with an 18-13 win. Kickoff for this year’s game is Saturday at 11am.
