Auburn dropped its final game of October 45-15 to Ole Miss Saturday.

The Tigers kept it close for the first half and into the third quarter before Ole Miss began to distance itself. With the loss, Auburn falls to 4-4 overall and 2-4 in the SEC.

Here’s what several Auburn players had to say following the loss:

Wide receiver Christian Neptune on the difference between the first and second half:

“Honestly, first half, it felt like a different drive, offensively. We didn't wait on anything. We just, from the jump, we were full throttle. I feel like in the second half, we came (out) a little flat, and that starts with me trying to be a leader. I have to make sure that I'm vocal and making sure that it's 0-0 coming out of the half. So definitely just starting quicker, second half.”

Offensive lineman Stanton Ramil on why Auburn struggled to get its run game going:

“Consistency, all across the board. I know personally, can't be on one play and off one play. Goes for the entire offensive line. Just goes back to practice. We have to be better practice players, and me as an older guy, I have to be a leader. I have to take accountability, get everyone right as best I can and move forward, keep our heads on the next couple games.”

Linebacker Bryce Deas on the second half performance:

“I think we really hurt ourselves in a lot of things. We just got to learn how to come out the second half, which I know we can, knowing our job and doing our job and staying on the details.”

Quarterback Byrum Brown on first down inefficiencies:

“It's difficult. You've got to be efficient on first and second down to get you in third-and-short, which is more manageable. I'd have to go back to the film and watch. But, probably, execution on first down. That would lead to second-down execution and third down as well.”

Defensive lineman Dallas Walker on Ole Miss excelling in the second half:

“We just have to get better at finishing. I feel like in the first half we were attentive to details and we were playing hard. I feel like we started missing minor details that turned into big things. It’s just about everyone doing their 1 of 11 and just coming together and playing good as a team.”
