Butch Thompson
Head Coach
Thompson will be entering his 12th season on the Plains. After a rough first year, in 2016, Thompson led the Tigers back to the postseason in 2017. He then led them to the 2018 NCAA Super Regionals and 2019 College World Series. Three seasons later, Auburn made a return trip to Omaha after defeating Oregon State. In 2023 and 2025, Thompson led the Tigers to a national seed, hosting a regional. They advanced to the Super Regional's, last year, before losing to Ole Miss. Thompson has coached 34 All-Americans and 47 pitchers have been drafted into the Major Leagues. His overall record, at Auburn, is 366-254-1. Thompson is married with three daughters.
Karl Nonemaker
Associate Head Coach
Nonemaker came to Auburn one year after the Tigers hired, current head coach, Butch Thompson. He helped lead the Tigers back to the postseason in 2017. Nonemaker then helped lead them to the 2018 NCAA Super Regionals and 2019 College World Series. Three seasons later, Auburn made a return trip to Omaha after defeating Oregon State. Nonemaker graduated from Vanderbilt and was drafted, by the Philadelphia Phillies, in the 20th round of the 2002 MLB draft. At Vandy, Nonemaker is second in career batting average and hits. He was also a part of the Phillies 2002 and 2003 Gulf Coast Championship teams. Nonemaker is married with three daughters.
Nick Ammirati
Assistant Coach
Ammirati arrives on the Plains after spending the last two seasons at Georgia, where he served as the Bulldogs' hitting coach and helped coordinate transfer portal recruiting. He replaces Gabe Gross, who recently transitioned into a new role within Auburn Athletics. Before joining Georgia, Ammirati spent three seasons at Kentucky, where he helped the Wildcats reach the College World Series in 2024. He also previously coached at Southern Miss, Hinds Community College and Northwestern State.
Everett Teaford
Pitching Coach
Teaford is entering his fourth season as Auburn's pitching coach. Before coming to Auburn, Teaford worked in the Chicago White Sox organization. He spent six seasons with them, including four as the minor league pitching coordinator. Teaford played at Georgia Southern and was a two-time All-Southern Conference recipient. He accumulated 26 wins and struck out 353 batters. That mark is good for second all-time at Georgia Southern. The Kansas City Royals drafted Teaford in the 12th round of the 2006 MLB draft. He did not debut, in the majors, until 2011. Teaford also registered one season, with the Tampa Bay Rays, in 2015. He is married with three kids.
