Cornerback Daveon Belhomme (Central Catholic/Clearwater, Fla.) is one of the top remaining targets in the 2027 class for Auburn.
The dynamic athlete still plans to officially visit Notre Dame Nov. 14 when the Irish host Boston College, and Auburn the following weekend when the Tigers host Samford.
Belhomme, who holds 20 offers, indicates what he’s looking forward to seeing on both of those of those trips.
Auburn - “A win. Spending time with (Tigers cornerbacks coach Demarcus Van Dyke) and coach (Alex) Golesh. Watching the game.”
Notre Dame - “Building a better relationship with their coaches. Enjoying myself. Hopefully get a win and seeing the atmosphere.”
Belhomme visited Auburn October 24 when the Tigers hosted LSU.
“I like the atmosphere,” Belhomme said.
He said that visit has the Tigers currently ahead.
“Auburn leads because I haven’t been to Notre Dame yet,” Belhomme said.
He added that he hopes to have his college choice by Thanksgiving following the two trips.
He has an idea of what that decision will be based on.
“Relationship with the position coach,” Belhomme said. “Knowing the head coach and playing early. Making it to the league.”
As a senior, Belhomme has caught 25 balls for 303 yards with two touchdowns. He has 262 kickoff returns yards. He’s also 1-for-1 passing with a 40-yard completion.
On defense, he has 50 tackles, two tackles for loss, four interceptions with 65 return yards and 10 pass deflections.
His senior film and performance has led to the majority of his offers.
“Grinding hard and putting the in the hard work and believing in myself,” Belhomme said.
As a junior, Belhomme caught 10 balls for 154 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he had 51 tackles and three pass deflections.
